There are several categories of member.

Directly elected members, members who have put their name forward as individuals to represent the community. In the event of more people putting themselves forward for election than there are places then an election will be called. The current elected members were elected by default due to there not being enough nominations when elections were called.

Nominated elected members, local organisations may nominate a member. This works as for the directly elected members but this time it is the organisation which puts itself forward for election. Again as in the case of the directly elected members the organisations were elected by default.

Youth representatives. - we currently have no youth representatives.

Craigleith Blackhall Community Council has 10 elected councillors (there is 1 place available for cooption) and spaces for 6 nominated members (currently 3).
